For almost twenty years I was a goalkeeper. Not tall, not especially agile, but from that spot I could see the whole pitch: how my team moved, where the gaps opened, what was about to happen. I still work from that position. Behind the camera I watch the whole field, read people, and look for the small details in human nature that make a story true.

The difference now: I love the position, I step out of the box on purpose, and I no longer yell at my team.
